Listen: Xosar – Nite Jam
Mysticism and the occult meld forebodingly with the constructs of Motor City soul on Xosar’s “Nite Jam”.
The title track from her forthcoming second release on Rush Hour, due out next week, is a prime example of the North Sea dwelling Californian’s self dubbed ghost house genre. Stripped down drums are gradually consumed by delay-laden chords and the occasional haunting vocal contribution of Cultus Island resident Klaus Weltman, while the spectral and heavily decayed equivalent of the bass line from “Miura” hangs ominously in the murky depths throughout the seven tape hiss saturated minutes.
