Numbers announce new Lory D release

The Glasgow based Numbers imprint have announced details of their next release, a vinyl only EP from Italian techno don Lory D.

Entitled Strange Days Vol 2, it represents a follow up to the similarly acid-soaked Strange Days Vol 1 released last summer. It carries on a long running relationship the imprint has with the producer – who is supposedly credited with bringing the London sounds of acid house and hardcore to his home country. As well as the aforementioned Vol 1, Lory D released several EPs on Wireblock, one of three labels that were absorbed into each other to create the Numbers imprint a few years ago.

The EP will supposedly be vinyl only, and on first listen the tracks sound even more incendiary than those contained within the first volume, with “B-I-132 Acid” having a churning acid line reminiscent of Josh Wink’s “Higher State of Consciousness”, while “Acidattak” is about as frantic as acid gets. “Ostia Girl” meanwhile forgoes the 303 for industrial textures and mangled vocals.

Strange Days Vol 2 will be released through Numbers on vinyl in June.
