Love Fever launches record label with Bicep
London based party collective Love Fever will expand operations with the launch of an eponymously titled record label which features Belfast duo Bicep on the inaugural release, entitled Make Love In Public Places.
Love Fever launched as an infrequent party in 2009 overseen by residents Andy Bird and Alex Bradley and has remained notable for a diverse booking policy that has seen the likes of Nicky Siano, DJ Sprinkles, Move D and Jimmy Edgar perform. A knack for finding actual intimate warehouse spaces in the East London vicinity and decking them out with balloons and the now ubiquitous neon love heart – pictured above – has secured Love Fever a loyal fashion-set meets house-head crowd.
After establishing the Love Fever brand, Bird & Bradley have turned attentions to launching a record label, with Feel My Bicep writers/DJs turned impressive producers Bicep a smart choice to line the first twelve inch. The track in question, “$tripper”, has been a staple at Love Fever parties in recent months and is indicative of the kind of pumping 90s NY house Bicep favour.
It’s complemented by “A Mans Best Friend”, a sultry uncredited diva heavy disco cut (purportedly by a very big name) on the B Side which should give the uninitiated an idea of the Love Fever aesthetic, with the accompanying sleazy artwork consistent with the soft focus porn visuals that adorn their flyers.
Love Fever will release Make Love In Public Places on 12″ on April 16.
