Mr Oizo readies Stade2 for Ed Banger
France’s favourite electronic oddball Mr Oizo will release his next album, entitled Stade2, in November.
Real name Quentin Dupiex, Mr Oizo is probably best known to the wider populous as the man responsible for the track “Flat Beat”, which soundtracked one of the most famous TV advertisements of the 90s, featuring the yellow puppet Flat Eric. Of course, he’s also the man responsible for some of the most fantastically deranged music of the past 10 years for Ed Banger Records, and, before that, F Communications.
It’s been three years since Oizo’s last solo album (Lambs Anger), although Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint reissued 2005’s excellent Moustache (Half A Scissor) this year, giving it a long overdue first vinyl pressing in the process.
Resident Advisor yesterday revealed the tracklist for the new album, which will be released on November 11 via Ed Banger Records.
