Royalty enter Purple Nights for Five Easy Pieces
East London duo Royalty will follow up their impressive debut 12″ for fledgling imprint Five Easy Pieces with a second EP, entitled Purple Nights, featuring a remix from Berlin-based artist Jimmy Edgar.
Their self titled debut received support from radio cognoscenti Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and Benji B, and showcased a densely layered, 80s-inspired boogie electro sound. Royalty’s sophomore 12″ will be released, appropriately, on purple vinyl, with stock limited to 500 copies.
The appearance of the aforementioned Edgar in remixing capacity is a significant coup for both label and artist, who coaxed techno-dubstep fusionist Objekt to remix a track on the label’s second release from Call Super.
Five Easy Pieces will release the Purple Nights EP from Royalty on November 21 (vinyl), while the digital version will arrive on November 28.
