Mosca joins 3024 for The Wavey EP

Martyn’s 3024 imprint today announced the impending release of an EP from Mosca, just days after his sizzling hot EP for Numbers finally hit the shelves.

Mosca will become the latest British producer to join the Dutch imprint in 2011, following in the footsteps of Julio Bashmore, Addison Groove, Trevino and Jon Convex – the latter both in solo mode and as one half of Instra:mental.

The four tracks that appear on The Wavey EP are an intriguing deviation from the raucous, modern re-imaginings of 90s UK Garage/2-Step that appeared on the aforementioned Numbers 12″, Done Me Wrong (check out our full review here). Burning Motor City chords combine with cavernous helpings of sub bass and a UKF sense of swing on opening track “Dom Perignon”, while “Orange Jack” features a looped hip-hop vocal atop cosy pads and a deep groove. “Jager” is the most unhinged of the lot, while digital-only offering “Wray ‘n Neph” appears to have “peak time warehouse tackle” stamped indelibly on its forehead.

No word yet on an exact release date – keep an eye on Juno Plus for more information as it comes to hand. In the meantime check out our recent feature on 3024 chief Martyn.

Tracklisting:

1. Dom Perignon
