Pre Sonus unveil AudioBox VSL-series interfaces
US Based pro-audio specialists PreSonus have today delighted the music industry with the announcement of three premium rate audio interfaces that sit well below the £500 mark.
All three AudioBox VSL-series interfaces offer high-headroom, Class A XMAX preamps with 48V phantom power, 24-bit – 96 kHz converters with 114 dB dynamic range and PreSonus’ 150 mW headphone output. Each model also provides MIDI I/O and zero-latency monitor mixing, plus reverb and delay effects with dedicated effects buses and the same compression, limiting, 3-band semi-parametric EQ, and high-pass filter found in the new StudioLive 16.0.2 mixer.
The flagship AudioBox 1818VSL has 2 mic/instrument inputs and 6 mic/line inputs, all with XMAX preamps, 8-channel ADAT I/O (4 channels at 88.1 or 96 kHz) stereo S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, and word-clock output. Retail price is $499 (about £305).
Next up is the AudioBox 44VSL which is a 4-in, 4-out ½U rack-mount interface offering two mic/line inputs, two mic/instrument inputs, two balanced main L/R outputs, and four additional balanced line outputs. Retail price is $299 (£185). Finally the AudioBox 22VSL is a 2-in, 2-out in interface in a third of a rackspace. Retail price is $199 (£120).
