Akai announce the EIE audio/MIDI interface with USB hub
With this year’s Summer NAMM in full swing we see the advent of another heavy-hitting audio interface designed for the portable or project musician/engineer as a one stop solution for all the connection demands of your music gear.
The EIE audio/MIDI Interface USB audio interface has 24-bit recording resolution supporting all standard sample rates (44.1kHz/48kHz/88.2kHz/96kHz). Connection wise there are four USB 2.0 ports, the first of which connects to your computer while the other three are available as a USB hub to connect controllers, hard drives or any other peripherals when native ports on your computer may be limited.
For microphones/line there are four XLR-1/4″ combo jacks with phantom power and gain control, as well as four nickel-plated 1/4″ outputs with independent 1/4″ channel inserts and it supports 5 Pin DIN MIDI.
On the front face there are the classic VU level meters with switchable sources and RED peak LEDS, plus headphone output with switchable source and direct monitoring dial.
No word on price or release date just yet – keep an eye on Juno Plus for more details as they emerge.
