Letherette return with second EP on Ho_Tep
Wolverhampton based duo Letherette will release their second EP on fledgling Eglo offshoot Ho_Tep, with an eponymous release due out on June 13.
The first EP – Richard Roberts and Andy Harber’s debut release under the Letherette moniker – was a bumper eight track offering. The smoky collection of late night jams that veered between broken beat, hip-hop and house fell comfortably into the ‘instant hit’ category at Juno Plus, and garnered deserved radio love from the likes of Benji B, Gilles Peterson and the Rinse crew.
Their second offering is stripped back to four tracks, with the vintage house thrust and sickly sweet vocals of “No Point” and smooth jazz leanings of “In And Out” standing out upon first listen.
London types can catch Letherette at the Eglo meets Ho_Tep bash this Saturday, May 14 at CAMP in East London, where they will be joined by Mizz Beats, FunkinEven, Alexander Nut, Mau’lin, Throwing Snow, Arp 101 and The Nonsense.
Letherette’s EP 2 will be released on June 13 via Ho_Tep Records.
