Gatekeeper announce European tour
Chicago based duo Gatekeeper will embark on their first European tour this May, with live performances scheduled for London, Amsterdam, Paris and Glasgow.
The six-track Giza EP on Merok Records arrived at the tail end of last year and was described by Juno Plus scribe Matt Anniss as a collection of “weird and wonderful disco experiments that hold cold, dark horror – or, more specifically, the 80s slasher movies of John Carpenter – as their overriding inspiration”.
Add to this a sprinkling of Giallo music, Italo and EBM, and it’s quite clear that Aaron David Ross and Matthew Arkell have cultivated an arresting and unique sonic identity.
Their broad appeal is showcased by the names they have been booked to play alongside during the eight-stop tour, namely Erol Alkan, Planningtorock, Mount Kimbie and Hyetal.
Their raucous live show, featuring custom-made effects and lighting devised by collaborators Thunderhorse FX, will debut on European shores at the School Of Art in Glasgow on May 11.
