More names added to Field Day bill

Carl Craig, Michael Mayer, Faust and Jamie xx are among the names today confirmed for this year’s Field Day festival, set to take place in East London’s Victoria Park on August 6.

In what is now widely regarded as London’s number one festival for discerning fans of electronic music, the aforementioned artists join the likes of Actress, Pearson Sound, Matthew Dear and Factory Floor on the bill.

The addition of Craig is a marquee signing for the organisers, with the Detroit don (pictured in a shoddy looking studio above) celebrating 20 years of his Planet E imprint in 2011, and currently in the midst of a global tour celebrating that very fact.

Elsewhere the addition of Jamie xx comes as little surprise, with the wispy Londoner enjoying man-of-the-moment status upon releasing his superb album-cum-mixtape recreation of Gil Scott-Heron’s I’m New Here.

Two more James’s – namely Holden and Blake – have also been added to the bill, as has Connan Mockasin, Night Slug L-VIS 1990 and, perhaps best of all, The Farnborough Concert Band Of The Royal British Legion.

Meanwhile Kompakt boss Michael Mayer, who always brings something to his DJ set be they on a festival mainstage or sweaty basement, will also be making an appearance, while the appearance of iconic German band Faust will please those looking for a Krautrock fix come August 6.

Early bird tickets for the event are now available via the Field Day website. More names are still to be announced – watch this space.
