Ho Tep ready debut Mau’lin EP
Swiftly following the news of the rather splendid forthcoming Floating Points & Fatima collaboration, Eglo boss Alex Nut is also preparing the next release on offshoot Ho Tep imprint which premieres the unique sounds of London producer Mau’lin.
The Ho Tep imprint debuted last summer with the sounds of promising young thing Throwing Snow and followed with the debut release from cross genre addicts Letherette. The three tracks that make up Mau’lin’s debut release Deeper Than The Sun continue the label’s eclectic approach.
The title track is a 140 BPM flex featuring the vocalist Amenta which melds classic broken beat and two step touches with a more contemporary sonic palette whilst “Good Arithmatic” indulges in some heavily percussive post UK Funky bass squelch dynamics and “Pelivin” introduces a more introspective Eastern slo mo orchestral stutter.
Ho Tep will release Deeper Than The Sun by Mau’lin on April 21 on vinyl, with the digital release to follow at a later date.
