Nicolas Jaar, M.I.A. and Shackleton added to Sónar bill

The look of this year’s Sónar festival in Barcelona is beginning to take shape, with a host of new artists including M.I.A, Shackleton, Nicolas Jaar, Cut Copy and Boys Noize added to the bill.

A typically diverse range of acts were announced today, with Paul Kalkbrenner, Buraka Som Sistema, Die Antwoord and, erm Steve Aoki also set to appear.

The talents of Warp stalwart Mark Pritchard will also be on display, in both his collaborations with Tom Middleton (Global Communication) and Steve Spacek (Africa Hitech).

The event will begin on June 16 with a gala performance from the legendary minimalist composer Steve Reich. For the second year in a row the festival will take place in both Barcelona and A Coruna.

Meanwhile, A Taste Of Sónar will return to London for a sixth time in March, with Gaslamp Killer and Axel Boman among the names announced to perform at the Roundhouse, before a fourth edition of SonarSound Tokyo takes place in April.
