RVNG plan series of Blondes releases

Two of our favourite things collide with potentially exciting results, with Brooklyn shimmer house duo Blondes hitching up with the ace RVNG INTL imprint for a series of themed releases.

Blondes first came to our attention via Touched, their excellent EP for Merok Records with “You Mean So Much To Me” impressing in particular thanks to some crafty Milli Vanilli usage. RVNG INTL main man Matt has been teasing us with some off the record chat about Blondes appearing on the label for far too long now, though admittedly he’s been trying to tie them down for a release for much longer having first heard their early material and catching their live show some two years ago.

A new dawn in their relationship will be marked on March 15 with the release of  “Lover/Hater” – the first in a series of Blondes emissions for RVNG that deal in themes of duality – and will culminate in the autumn with the release of a CD and digital album containing all tracks from the vinyl EPs along with bonus material and remixes. Ahead of this, the duo will be relocating to the electronic musician’s playground known as Berlin whilst they embark on a European tour that takes in a must-see performance at XOYO as part of a slick Durrrr lineup as well as joining Simian Mobile Disco and The Juan Maclean on an extensive tour of the US throughout March.

Meanwhile, Blondes will also feature on another forthcoming release from RVNG INTL – the label, incidentally,  has around fifteen planned for the year – as one of several high profile artists to remix the tracks from visionary 80s synth boff Harald Grosskopf’s exploratory album Synthesist.

The album itself will be reissued by the New York label as a deluxe package LP and there will be an additional CD of remixes from RVNG alumni past, present and future including the aforementioned Blondes,  JD Twitch, CFCF, Oneohtrix Point Never, Pink Skull and Snoretex aka the latest musical alias of Sam ‘Allez Allez/Walls‘ Willis. Full details on this exciting project which is set for release next month can of course be found at the RVNG INTL site.
