The Italian is set for a return to Other People later this month.
Turin artist Vaghe Stelle and Nico Jaar’s Other People operation first aligned last year with the Abstract Sound + Speed mini-album, arriving amidst Lydia Lunch reissues, DJ Slugo 12″s and the sprawling, conceptual Terepa project from Rashad Becker, NHK’Koyxen, Laurel Halo and more. Given the broad remit shown by Other People, Daniele Mana’s work as Vaghe Stelle fits right in, not least because his label debut had quite the conceptual bent to it, themed around a painting of noted Italian Futurist Giacomo Balla. Prior to Abstract Sound + Speed, Mana had featured prominently on Juno Plus with output on Astro:Dynamics, Danse Noire and Gang Of Ducks and participation in the One Circle project with Lolo Senzi and Francesco Fantini.
Last spotted remixing Portuguese newcomer Random Gods for the aforementioned Danse Noire, Mana is set to grace Other People with a second Vaghe Stelle release in the shape of the unweildly-titled, The Full Stream Ahead: The Prologue. Available now to Other People subscribers, the four-track single is accompanied by a fanciful press release describing Vaghe Stelle’s “seemingly endless wander through a lonely, gargantuan labyrinth of concrete and steel, fighting off ghosts and other futuristic nightmares, searching only for something called The Full Stream Ahead. Who is this quiet, determined man and what are these Ghosts he seeks?” Indeed. You can stream the maximal futuristic gloss of opening track “Unofficial Megastructures” below for an idea of what to expect from The Full Stream Ahead.
Other People will release The Full Stream Ahead: The Prologue by Vaghe Stelle on May 30.
