The Exaltics meets The Girl And The Chameleon

The prolific German artist will return to Shipwrec with a new album in January.

In terms of music from The Exaltics, this year has seen Robert Witschakowski in a largely retrospective mood with his biggest project The Truth 2008-2013, a double LP collection of the German’s “most important tracks”. There have of course been further contributions from the Jena-based electro emissary as 2015 has progressed, with Cologne Underground and Viennese label Trust beneficiaries whilst Witschakowski’s Solar One Music label has remained as busy as ever. Along with those high-profile remixes of The Exaltics, the label has coaxed some new material out of Clatterbox as well as unveil the Hubble Telescope Series.

A new year will see Witschakowski swing his attentions back to fresh material as The Exaltics with the news he’ll return to Dutch electro stronghold Shipwrec with a new album. Due out in January featuring some more superb artwork from Jaco Putker, the 13-track album is the fourth solo longplayer Witschakowski has released as The Exaltics and can be previewed below. Given the riotous tone, it’s unsurprising that Witschakowski has dedicated The Girl And The Chameleon to the old days of acid rave, as he told us over email.

“After my last more deep and melodic releases, I thought its time for some more stuff for the dancefloor. I often say I love acid music and this album is dedicated to the old acid rave days and its probably my hardest and mostly straight to the point album to date. I wanted to keep the feelings I had as I found this music deep in the beginning of the ’90s.”

Shiprwrec will release The Girl And The Chameleon by The Exaltics on January 25.
