Gavin Russom presents The Telstar File

If you have powered through the extensive discussion with Melvin Oliphant III we published yesterday, you will no doubt have gleaned the fact Gavin Russom has been a very busy man. Not only has Russom been collaborating with the Nation founder and Psyche singer Darrin Huss on the Gavom project, he’s also apparently completed work on a new Black Meteoric Star album. We can now add to Russom’s 2015 schedule a debut for Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S. operation in the form of a three-track 12″ due next month.

The news has been heralded with a full stream of closing track “The Telstar File” (whose name immediately conjures up mental images of classic Seinfeld) and seems to perfectly capture Russom’s talent for combining functional rhythms with mind bending repetition, busy synths and flailing hi-hats.
