Bedouin Records reveals Ryo Murakami album

The Japanese artist is responsible for the first full-length project from the label with Deist due in March.

A breakthrough 2014 for Bedouin saw the ”vinyl-only imprint based in the desert” usher into the world a series of 12″ releases drawing from the darker, more crepuscular corners of techno, augmented by a clearly defined visual aesthetic. Ekman, Eomac, Dez Williams, Bintus, and most recently J. Tijn are some of the more familiar names to have contributed to this rise, with our friends at FACT picking Bedouin as one of their labels to watch this year. News now arrives of Bedouin’s plans to enter the realm of long players with Osaka-based producer Ryo Murakami the man granted this honour.

Last seen on the Meakusma label, Murakami’s forthcoming album Deist will be the second full-length proper from the panrecords boss, with his debut Depth Of Decay issued through the label of the same name some two years ago. Judging by the below preview, the eight-track album will find Murakami eschewing the dubby minimal techno he’s sometimes produced in the past in favour of droning soundscapes, described as “not unlike a synthetic version of Sunn O)))” in a press release from Bedouin. Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering has been called on to perform mastering duties for the vinly-only Deist.

Bedouin Records will release Deist by Ryo Murakami in March.
