Bordello A Parigi launches Bitter Moon

The house-focused sister label will be introduced with a debut release featuring Credit 00, Skatebård and Wasted Gaze.

Otto Kraanen’s Bordello A Parigi label has racked up almost 40 releases in the three years since the Italo-loving Dutch label was founded, a figure made even more impressive when you consider the calibre of artists involved. Italo legend Fred Ventura, Model Man (aka Jeroen ‘DJ Overdose’ Warmenhoven), Minimal Rome boss Heinrich Dressel, Flemming Dalum, and Bunker legend Rude 66 are just a clutch of names that have helped establish Bordello A Parigi as a modern force for Italo lovers. News now arrives that Kraanen plans to expand his empire with the establishment of Bitter Moon, a new label focused on matters of a house music nature with the first offering due in October.

Arriving under the name Lunes De Fiel Vol. 1 (which our multi-lingual readers will know translates as the label name in French) the first release on Bitter Moon is a split 12″ affair featuring contributions from Norwegian producer Skatebård, Rat Life Records boss Credit 00 (pictured above) and supposedly Lithuanian producer Wasted Gaze, though Discogs suggests close ties to the Bordello camp. Featuring a name that may take inspiration from the early ’90s Polanski film of the same title, it seems cinema may play an integral role in Bitter Moon, with Credit 00’s contribution described as “a director’s cut of a downhill Indiana Jones on LSD fighting hungry alligators at the riverside of the Elbe valley”.

Bitter Moon will launch with the Lunes De Fiel Vol. 1 12″ on October 14.
