Watch: Blondes “Pleasure”

The anticipation for the next in the series of Blondes twelve inches for RVNG INTL just increased a degree or two with the release of an accompanying video for “Pleasure” from Berkeley residing conceptual visual artist Farley Gwazda.

The series got off to a fine start with the colossal rhythmic double punch of Lover/Hater and the Brooklyn based duo serve further notice of their increasing promise with the next installment – Business/Pleasure – with the latter track being adorned with a suitably hypnotic video from Gwazda. It’s perhaps best left to Gwazda to explain his thinking behind the video:

“Assembled entirely from animated gifs – scientific diagrams, mathematical figures, representations of data, and renderings of simulated systems, this video appropriates images meant to serve as a rational demonstration of logical concepts and transmogrifies them into a cosmic trip.

“In the same way that Blondes use analogue instruments to humanize electronica and create psychedelic soundscapes, this video explores irrational paths to knowledge and investigates how information is processed into meaningful experience.”

Blondes play CAMP London this Thursday, May 26 and RVNG Intl release Business/Pleasure on June 6.
