Premiere – Wooka’s funked up ‘People Fucked Up’

Hailing from France, Wooka seamlessly blends house, break, and electro, channeling the energy of hip-hop and UK garage.

His live performances showcase the dedication to his craft, crafting sonic symphonies that transport audiences to the heart of his musical universe. He’s also about to add to his growing reputation with a new four track EP called ‘Somethin You Dress Up’ on SAUDE! records.

The tracks show off his versatlity and wide palate of influences, from the sun-soaked vibes of ‘I Hope You Breathe’ to the pulsating precision of ‘People Fucked Up’, ‘London Somethin’ -which pays homage to 90s UK bass with intricate percussive artistry – and closing tune ‘No Dress Code’, made with Acheel, which delves deep into sub-bass syncopation.

Wooka has kindly offered Juno Daily readers the chance to hear ‘People Fucked Up’ before anyone else, telling us: “I really enjoyed making this track, not least because it’s the result of a lot of experimentation and good surprises. For example, the slightly goofy synth that comes in at the break at around 2:00 came about by fiddling around on my synth with no particular objective, then I made a mistake when recording the pattern, I looped it over five bars by ‘mistake’, but the rhythm of the loop came as a pleasant surprise.”
