Exclusive – watch the dystopian AI video for The Orb’s ‘H.O.M.E.’
Album number 18 lands end of this month

The Orb have shared a futuristic video for the track ‘H.O.M.E.’ – or ‘High Orbs, Mini Earths’ – ahead of new album Prism, which is set to surface on April 28.
The track is bouncy, upbeat Orb but with plenty of the dubby effects, space-like pads and sampladelia that the band have made their trademarks. The vocals in the tracks’s middle section are sampled from an Alan Lomax recording of prisoners incarcerated at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman, Mississippi, 1947.
London-based Animation Director Emma Catnip used AI technology to create the video. “I used AI-generated animation to depict a dystopian future where pollution forces humanity to live in self-sustaining orbs above Earth,” she says, “With the help of the innovative software, Linum, I crafted a visual experience that encourages reflection on environmental responsibility while showcasing the potential of technology in art.”

The track opens the new, nine track album from The Orb, which sees Alex Paterson and Michael Rendell joined by guests David Harrow, Gaudi, Youth, violinist Violeta Vicci, Kompakt records alumnus Leonardo Fresco, Metamono man Jono Podmore, guitarist and Alex’s old schoolchum David Lofts plus vocalists Eric Von Skywalker, Andy Cain and Rachel D’arcy.
