The modern reboot of a classic vintage sampler is due in stock soon.
Isla Instruments have announced another firmware update to their S2400 sampler. The S2400 is heavily inspired by the classic E-mu SP-1200 from the late 80s, updated and reimagined as a modern instrument with the option of running a mixture of ‘Hi-Fi’ 16-bit samples and SP-style ‘Classic’ 12-bit sounds for added character.
The March 2023 firmware update includes bug fixes plus a lot of new features, including an overhaul of live looping, the ability to import SP1200 projects and round robin slicing. You can see YouTuber Alex Ball run through the sampler’s key features in the video above.
The Isla Instruments S2400 is available to pre-order now, priced at £1,770.
