The Rane Four is a four-channel controller featuring Stem Split for live manipulation of tracks.
Newly announced from Rane, the Four is a Serato controller aimed to compete with controllers such as the Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT and Roland DJ-707M. Following in Rane’s number-themed naming system, the Four is a big step up from the smaller One controller, but it doesn’t follow the same vinyl-style, scratch-focussed approach of the One or the Twelve controllers. Instead, it features non-motorised platters and more of a focus on mixing and real-time manipulation of tracks. Specifically, the new Stem Split feature automatically splits the vocal and instrumental stems onto two separate channels, allowing you to mix and process them separately. You can see it in action in the video above.
The Rane Four is expected early in 2023, with the price TBC. You can view the full Rane product line-up here.
