Wet Leg’s ‘Chaise Longue’ gets creepy mystery goth overhaul
Mystery goths lampoon latter day indie classic
Wet Leg’s indie anthem ‘Chaise Longue’ – Juno Daily’s single of the year in 2021 – has been given the goth metal treatment by the mysterious and hitherto unknown band Moist Limb.
The Isle of Wight band have also seen their distinctive promo for the track lampooned by Moist Limb, who’ve re-named the track ‘Trone Noir’ – black throne – and switched a few of the lyrics to more goth friendly equivalents like “a pack of warm blood that we can consume”.
Rather than the picturesque summery environs of the Isle of Wight, Moist Limb are seen pacing through graveyards in the middle of a lightning storm.
Still, having scored 7,000 views, the goth pretenders have a way to go before they can claim to have eclipsed Wet Leg’s version, currently on 6,759,421 views.
And if you prefer your Wet Leg re-rubs slightly less moody, there’s always the forthcoming Soulwax 12″ featuring the dancefloor legends’ two mixes of ‘Too Late Now’
