Lady of the House announce new Cultural Exhibition event celebrating women in electronic music
After 2021’s book on women in dance music, comes a full exhibition…
Lady of the House – the female-led organisation behind the book of the same name, released in 2021, that celebrates and documents the stories behind dance music’s key women artists – have this week announced a new speakers’ event, inviting a ‘wave’ of industry speakers to their platform between March 8-12.
Commencing on International Women’s Day (8th March), the Cultural Event programme will invite a range of music events, educational industry-related workshops, empowering panels, production and DJ masterclasses, an art installation, and a Lady Of The House book reading from authors.
Key speakers and workshop leaders on the exhibition bill include Sarah Story, Sita Abellan, Arielle Free, Alex Mills, Lisa Lashes, Charlie Tee, Barbara Tucker, Cici, Anja Schneider, Jaguar, Sophia Kearney & Steven Brains.
Notably, the event will begin with an Under-18s day, educating students in a variety of topics including diversity, music production, DJing, artist management and more.
While the full lineup of speakers has yet to be confirmed, the event is additionally supported by various industry figureheads, including Defected Records, Focusrite, Lakota, Halo, Orange Rooms, Mas Vida, and Resident Advisor.
For the event, designer Jenny Elliott has collaborated with the organisation to produce a ‘Women In Club Culture’ music map, to appear alongside a series of visual content. The limited edition art will be available to buy at the exhibition.
The exhibition also commences the Lady of the House UK Tour, a series of events catering to all-women lineups across a number of cities from March 2022. Follow these links for more information and tickets for the exhibition and tour.
