The desktop monitors allow you to choose between two sound modes for mixing or production.
New from Pioneer DJ, the DM-50D is the latest model to join the DM series of desktop monitors. As a five-inch, two-way design, the 50s sit above the smaller DM-40s and offer significantly more bass.
The smart thing about Pioneer’s DM design is that it’s intended to cater to producers as well as DJs. A switch on the back of the left-hand speaker allows you to choose between two sound modes: one for DJing, and one for production. The DM-50s aren’t intended to be the last word in ultra-clear studio sound, but for the price they’re an appealing option if you’re looking for all-rounders. You can find out more in the video above.
The Pioneer DM-50D desktop monitors are expected in stock soon, priced at £199 a pair. A white version will also be available.
