Premiere – Gagarin shares new dancefloor remix by USRNM
Track from The Great North Wood album gets double overhaul
Gagarin has given Juno Daily readers a chance to be the first to hear a new remix by USRNM from the London producer’s last album The Great North Wood.
Stuart Bowditch aka USRNM and Gagarin have been long time collaborators. Gagarin invited Stuart under his USRNM guise to create a remix of the track ‘Panceat’ aimed more towards the dance floor. Stuart took inspiration from the crackly field recordings in the original and added to them a solid four to the floor beat drawing out the techno elements already present in the original.
Using the aching melodic lines in a sparse sound world Stuart used the atmospheres of the original to create something that still represented Panceat as conceived by Gagarin but through a more Berlin-style techno sense.
Stuart Bowditch iaka USRNM said of his mix: “It’s always a pleasure to work with Dids as I love his music, his attitude and his natural ability as a genuine human being. He was quite specific in that he wanted a dance floor friendly version of Panceat from his latest album Great North Wood so I approached the remix using my USRNM mind set which lean towards dub techno with a warm and rhythmical aesthetic.
“It was a pleasure to work on not only as I got to hear the way that Graham construct his tracks but I’ve been working on other things throughout lockdown and it was a great reason to get producing again. I hope you enjoy it.”
The USRNM ‘Panceat’ remix, alongside a new remix by Gagarin himself, are released tomorrow (October 8) through Gagarin;’s Bandcamp page.
