Fake News!!! Nathan Fake announces Blizzards Remixes EP and UK tour
EP also includes Fake’s homage to early 90s Orbital and UK techno, ‘Sandstone’
Nathan Fake has announced a new remix EP, ‘Blizzards Remixes’, out on November 19 via Cambria Instruments.
Featuring remixes of tracks from his last album ‘Blizzards’, contributing artists include Iréne Dreģsel and Afrodeutsche. The EP also contains a new live version of the album track ‘Torchsong’ performed by Fake himself, as well as a completely new track, ‘Sandstone’.
Last year’s Blizzards album was Fake’s most critically acclaimed project to date. However, despite the album’s cohesion, there were still leftovers from the album’s recording stage – including ‘Sandstone’. The track is Fake’s homage to early 90s Orbital and UK techno, which were the biggest influences on his formative music-writing years.
Meanwhile, French musician transforms ‘Vectra’ into an anthemic trance track, while Afrodeutsche strips ‘Cry Me A Blizzard’ back to its chords, adding her own vocals to her own ambient version.
Meanwhile, Fake’s live version of ‘Torchsong’ reflects his own deferral from playing live to revisiting his skills as a remixer, as a direct result of the various COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020-21. In that time, Fake has also remixed the work of several contemporary acts, including Damian Lazarus and GoGo Penguin.
However, Fake has not eschewed live performance altogether; he has also announced a 2021 tour across the UK, commencing in October. Details of the tour dates and venues are below:
