LA duo with a reputation for intricate sound design share cinematic promo
Heliochrysum share the video for ‘Forbidden Structures’ from their imminent debut album We Become Mist, exclusively with Juno Daily today.
The LA based duo of Michael Deragon and Daniel Lea are well know for their sound design as well as compositional skills and the album is a sculpted journey into new aural and imaginative cosmology using analogue and digital processes to create science fictional, psychedelic soundscapes.
‘The track comes backed with a beautiful, impressionist video directed by Gabriel Kuo. He said of the film: “A visual narrative unfolds around a young woman coming to terms with a past trauma, which is now beginning to surface. Through multiple stages of pattern recognition and cognitive recall, the pieces start to slowly fuse as her mind traces back to the location of the crime, and what was once buried is now unearthed. The film is influenced by David Cronenberg’s early experimental films, as well as the disquieting and cryptic imagery of Nicholas Roeg.”
Heliochrysum album is out digtally on September 3 with vinyl; expected to arrive soon after – pre-order your copy here
