Korg’s all-new Modwave synth draws inspiration from the vintage DW-8000
The brand’s new wavetable synth is described as edgy, expansive and easy to use.
Fresh from reissuing the ARP 2600 and MiniKorg 700, plus announcing an all-new drum machine, Korg also have a brand new synth on the way. The Modwave uses wavetable synth, a method the brand have employed at various points over the years, drawing inspiration from the 1980s DW-8000 model. Wavetable synthesis hasn’t always been the most user-friendly approach, so it’s reassuring that Korg promise the Modwave is easy to use. You can see it in action below:
The Korg Modwave is expected to arrive in April, priced at £624. Scroll down to see more of the DW-8000.
