New Korg drum machine combines analogue and digital features

The Drumlogue is due to arrive later this year.

drumlogue

Korg have teased a first look video of a new drum machine. The Drumlogue is the first drum-focused instrument in the ‘logue range, combining analogue and digital features. You can hear more and see it in action below:

We’re expecting the Drumlogue to come in at an affordable price point like the existing ‘logue synths, but there are some exciting high-end features on board: individual outputs, sample-based and digital sounds as well as multiple analogue parts, a powerful sequencer and built-in effects. Like other ‘logue instruments, a software development kit will allow third-party developers to produce custom firmware.

With that level of flexibility and Korg’s usual build quality, it’ll be an interesting rival to the Roland TR-8S and maybe even more expensive drum machines like the Elektron Analog Rytm.

There’s no official word on pricing or availability yet, but we’ll bring you more details when we get them. Korg have also announced two new vintage reissues and an all-new wavetable synth.
