Voiski next on Dekmantel’s UFO series
The hunger-inducing I’ll Be Your Maple Pecan Tonight will arrive next month.
Named in honour of the techno tent at their Amsterdam festival, Dekmantel’s UFO series has quickly picked up a swift pace with new editions announced just as the previous ones are released. So with the dust settling on Randomer’s contribution, Running Dry, the label rolls out news of the next UFO inductee in the shape of the previously-alluded-to Voiski. Among the artists to perform at this year’s edition of Les Siestes Électroniques at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, Voiski’s kept busy in 2016 with a debut on Russian Torrent Versions, a contribution to the debut 12″ from Bassiani and a live tape on L.I.E.S. with Svengalisghost.
Next month will see Voiski add Dekmantel to his 2016 rollcall with I’ll Be Your Maple Pecan Tonight, a five-track 12″ that has the editorial here considering a lunchtime trip to the nearby Whole Foods for some (expensive) pie. Available to preview below, the 12″ sees Voiski deliver a lot more than the expertly produced techno the series essentially demands by opening with an ambient number (“Go To A Mountain & Cry For A Vision”) and ending on a spiralling breakbeat note. Expect further editions of UFO from DJ Stingray and a newly shorn Marcel Dettmann over the coming months.
Dekmantel will release I’ll Be Your Maple Pecan Tonight by Voiski on July 11.
