Illum Sphere displays Second Sight

The Hoya:Hoya man has a new 12″ on the way through Ninja Tune – stream the B-side here.

For a producer who has been releasing music regularly as far back as 2009, it’s been a bit quiet on the fresh cuts front for Hoya:Hoya resident Illum Sphere of late, with his last output of note the late 2014 Spectre Vex double pack for Ninja Tune. Next month puts an end to this drought as Illum Sphere returns with a club 12″ called Second Sight, with the title track available to stream in full below. Both this track and B-side “Ritual” are apparently “reflective of a shift to a more machine-sounding approach” from the producer and bodes well for future Illum Sphere music. Ninja Tune are proffering “Second Sight” as a “cold wave banger” which makes perfect sense if you’ve caught Ilum in the dance, or indeed his quite excellent and under-rated mix for the fabriclive series with the Mancunian’s love for past sounds ever-present in his selections.
