Juan Mendez has been responsible for some timeless online Silent Servant mixes over the years, from 2010’s Sandwell District Radio Mix 2 (download here if you haven’t heard this) to the live recording of his DJ set at Honey Soundsystem in late 2013. The chance to hear Mendez in the mix should never be passed up, and we are granted another opportunity thanks to Athens events crew Phormix who hosted an event with fellow promoters π at the Six D.O.G.S. venue last month which saw the Jealous God man perform live and DJ. In their own words, “the night was really intense,” and almost three hours of Mendez’s DJing was recorded for the latest Phormix podcast which you can sink into below. Expect everything from DAF and Nitzer Ebb to Helena Hauff and Tzusing via Rødhåd and vintage Joey Beltram.
