Dates set for Krake Festival 2015

Krake

The week-long Berlin festival begins to unravel this year’s showcase.

Krake Festival is a Berlin initiative headed by Killekill boss Nico Deuster that’s successfully developing its own distinct aesthetic since its inaugural year in 2010. Krake plays host to a more experimental fare of electronic music with headlining commissions in the past coming from classic acts like Plaid, Cristian Vogel, Mika Vainio, Ulrich Schnauss, Murcof and Monolake, while making sure to offset its oeuvre by having artists like Tim Exile, Anklepants, Furfriend and Adam Exile play alongside side some of contemporary techno music’s finest in Cassegrain, Perc, Traversable Wormhole, to Stroboscopic Artefacts artists and Legowelt.

Krake takes place during the first week of August in and around Berlin venues, with Friedrichshain club Suicide Circus at its core. While all the names are yet to be announced, or confirmed, the festival has revealed Robert Henke will play as Destructive Observation Field, a project described as involving, “a bright multicolor laser beam points at a black reflective sheet of plastic hanging freely from the ceiling,” while Moritz Simon Geist will present the robotic drum installation, MR-808 Interactive.

Other arts and culture events will take place at Berlin art space Urban Spree and Berghain Kantine, involving live performances from artists like Berceuse Heroique’s Ekman, while the heaviest doses of live music can be caught at Suicide Circus with shows schedule for Cassegrain & Tin Man, Sendai, Untold, Mondkopf, Bintus and Eomac. For more information and tickets to Krake visit the festival’s website.

Krake Festival takes place between August 3-9.
