Listen to Traxx Live On Dek

traxx_dek_080414

You can finally grip one of our favourite sets from this year’s Dekmantel festival recorded live and direct from the Amsterdam festival’s Selectors Stage.

Earlier this year Juno Plus attended the second year of Dekmantel festival held in a forest on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Over three days, highlights included Optimo and Detroit’s 3 Chairs, Inga Copeland and James Zoo for something a little different, and Nation boss Traxx. His set, the final of day two, was one of the more challenging but ultimately rewarding performances and as our review explains, Melvin Oliphant III played a, “vivacious set of alternative techno and body music which more than lived up to expectations.”

It was Traxx’s opening track, however, which turned the warm and feel good vibes of Antal’s set on its head, or as we described, “weeded out those not familiar with his abrasive yet impressively dynamic approach to selecting.” For two solid hours of unrelenting Jakbeat, obscure edits you’ll hear nowhere else, throttling techno and random house played loud with full showmanship, check out the mix below (made available to download which should make your next commute all the more enjoyable). There’s also a hint or two of what to expect with familiar tags including Armando, Severed Heads, Mick Wills and Nitzer Ebb.
