Win tickets to see Zip at Fabric and copies of his 2012 mix CD
We have two copies of Zip’s fabric 67 to give away and two double passes to see the much loved German DJ at the London club on Saturday July 19.
When all of us are long gone and studies are done on the classic electronic music people once listened to, it seems fair to say that Perlon will be listed alongside other classic labels like Metroplex, Warp and Tresor. One of the few artifacts Thomas Franzmann, aka Zip, will leave behind is his excellent fabric 67 mix from two years ago, which included music from Perlon staples Thomas Melchior and his Soul Capsule collaborator Baby Ford, alongside tracks from legends like Terrence Dixon, Kenny Larkin and Roy Ayers, cementing his reputation as an eclectic selector who isn’t afraid to look outside minimal sounds.
Zip will return to Fabric for what promises to be an equally varied set on Saturday July 19, playing in room one alongside the Soul Capsule boys for a session steeped in the trio’s trademark deep, disjointed and often kooky sound. Over in room two meanwhile, Drumcode artist Nicole Moudaber will close out the night with Carl Cox associate Jon Rundell. Zip’s appearances in London on the whole have proved to be a once year occurrence, so for your annual dose of Perlon this is could well be it for 2014.
We have two copies of Zip’s fabric 67 to give away and two double passes to the night for two lucky Juno Plus readers. The details can be found below, and the competition will run until 2pm on Friday July 18, with the winning entrants notified via email before the end of the day.
