Watch the excellent video for K. Leimer’s “Lonely Boy”
Weird Days and Raw Tings collaborate on a mind-bending visual treatment for a highlight of RVNG Intl.’s recent K. Leimer retrospective.
Wedged in amongst the charmingly naive experiments in new age tape loop beatdown that characterised much of A Period Of Review: 1975 – 1983, “Lonely Boy” stood out for featuring actual singing from the Seattle-based Kerry Leimer. That the lyrical content of the track was as abstract in the extreme as Leimer’s composition only helped to reinforce “Lonely Boy” as one of our favourite tracks from the collection. It’s little surprise then that RVNG chose the track for their latest exercise in memorable music video content, tasking the collective visual talents of the Weird Days and Raw Tings agencies to deliver a treatment that comes across at times like a bizarro take on a Dr Seuss classic (Blue Eggs and Sausage anyone?), and features the world’s most foremost Leimer lookalike in MGMT drummer Will Berman.
