Astro:Dynamics announce full details of Quiltland album
A self-titled album from the Swedish producer is due on the London label next month.
The news that Frida Li-Lövgren (pictured above) is to release an album as Quiltland through Astro:Dynamics is not exactly new, with the label alluding to the fact they were working with the Swedish musician late last year when they slipped out a VHS smudged video for the track “Days”. With a small discography focused on limited cassette releases to her name – both as Quiltland and Quilts – Li-Lövgren seems a perfectly suited addition to the Astro:Dynamics roster which has enjoyed a fine 2014 thus far thanks to releases from Alis, Nenado, Vaghe Stelle and Lord Skywave.
The self-titled album is due late next month and the aforementioned “Days” is nestled amongst the ten tracks along with two other productions which have slipped out as Astro:Dynamics have eased up the gears of anticipation. Quiltland’s sound nestles snugly in the smudged-out interzone between synthpop and knackered techno, and comparisons have been made with labelmate and fellow Swede 1991, so it’s little surprise to see a remix from him close out the album. A further preview of what to expect from Quiltland is available to stream below in the shape of the dreamy “1 Second Sun 1 Hour Of Light”.
Astro:Dynamics will release Quiltland by Quiltland on June 30.
