Alex Israel is Moving To The Suburbs

AI590W.T. Records graduate Alex Israel branches out to Chicago label Stilove4music.

In the years leading up to Alex Israel’s debut proper on Willie Burns’ W.T. Records in 2011, the Detroit artist was known for his hip hop tracks, DJing and a selection of house productions for a clutch of digital labels during the late 2000s. Following that Walking To Guntersville EP on W.T. Records, Israel went on to release another EP for the Night Gallery label before earning his stripes with two releases on Crème Organization, including this year’s A Man Of Qualities EP. After attracting the attention of Jerome Derradji’s Still Music with a pair of contribution for the In The Dark: Detroit Is Back compilation last year, news has surfaced Israel will provide the sister label Stilove4Music with a four-track EP called Moving To The Suburbs.

It’s the label’s second release for 2014 following a split EP with American house pioneers Armando and Chris ‘Bam Bam’ Chris Westbrook. Israel provides three tracks with a bonus acapella of the title track and according to the label “Moving To The Suburbs” is an acid ode to “the devastatingly uncreative normcore of American suburbia via the State of Michigan”. ‘In Acid we trust’ are also the words Stilove4music chose to describe “Ocelot”, while Israel completes the piece with a “sci fi beatless instrumental geared towards your future space and time deviations.”

Stilove4music will release Alex Israel’s Moving To The Suburbs EP on April 28.
