Modeselektor announce Modeselektion Vol. 3
A varied cast including L-Vis 1990, Fennesz, and The Fall feature on the latest volume of the compilation series due for release in June on Monkeytown Records.
Making its debut in 2010, the Modeselektion series has offered Modeselektor’s unique take on the dissolving boundaries between dubstep, techno, house and experimental music across two sizable volumes, with diverse artists like 2562, SBTRKT, Bok Bok, Mala, Diamond Version and Prefuse 73 all contributing exclusive tracks, and the duo’s Monkeytown Records has now announced details of the third entry in the series.
Released on June 27, Modeselektor presents Modeselektion Vol. 03 is described by the label as “a little less in-your-face” and “with a touch more schmaltz, but the usual dose of head and heart”. This is something certainly reflected in the diverse tracklisting, which commences with a track from Editions Mego ambient artist Fennesz, closes with a Modeselektor edit of Syrian musician Omar Souleyman, and features techno/bass fusions from Akkord, French Fries and L-Vis 1990, house from Henrik Schwarz and beat constructions from Onra and Nosaj Thing; most surprising however is the inclusion of a track from Mancunian post-punk band The Fall. Unlike previous entries, Modeselektion Vol. 3 will arrive on 2LP, 2CD and digital versions.
Monkeytown Records will release Modeselektor presents Modeselektion Vol. 03 on 2LP, 2CD and digital versions on June 27.
