Throne Of Blood introduce the Moon Rock series

Steve Moore, Naum Gabo, Juju & Jordash and Professor Genius are among the artists featured on the New York-based label’s forthcoming conceptual compilation.

Originally founded back in 2006 as an outlet for material from the now disbanded NYC cowbell smashers The Rapture, Throne Of Blood has subsequently developed into a strong label that champions the 12″ format with an international cast of production talent. Paul Woolford (as Ford Inc), Kill The DJ’s Chloé, Daniel Avery, Call Super and Hardway Bros have all released music on Throne of Blood over the years, whilst the label has retained close ties with the New York community too with further releases from the likes of Eamon Harkin, Populette and DJ Druzz vs Omega Mus, the bizarre guise of The Rapture’s Gabriel Andruzzi.

Having recently issued a Jokers of the Scene 12″ that featured a particularly potent Hieroglyphic Being remix, details have now surfaced of perhaps the most ambitious release from Throne Of Blood yet in the form of the forthcoming Moon Rock compilation. Apparently a year in the making, the twelve-track release is the first in a series from Throne Of Blood that invites an assembly of artists to “explore the outer reaches of electronic ambience, cosmische vibrations, and crystalline acoustics”. Conceived jointly by label boss James Friedman and regular TOB contributors Cosmic Kids, this inaugural edition features Juju & Jordash, Simian Mobile Disco, Jokers of the Scene, Naum Gabo, Professor Genius, Steve Moore, and a contribution from Space Dimension Controller under his teenage alias RL/VL (an acronym for Real Life/Virtual Life).

A trailer for the first edition featuring the sumptuous “Seebestattung” from Cologne duo DAMH is available to watch below, whilst a second edition featuring Cosmo Vitelli, Red Axes, Jens-Uwe Beyer, Pixelife, and Rory Phillips is already in the works.

Throne Of Blood will release Moon Rock Volume 1 in late April.
