D’Marc Cantu returns to MOS for a Long Weekend
The Ann Arbor-based producer will release a three-track 12″ on MOS Deep later this month.
Somehow the word “prolific” doesn’t quite seem to do justice to D’Marc Cantu, whose stream of musical output is always as high in quality as it is in quantity. One of the most foremost proponents of the ‘Jakbeat’ ethos along with fellow Nation artists Tadd Mullinix and Melvin Oliphant III, Cantu is also a firm favourite with Créme Organization and MOS Recordings, the latter of which have released several records from the producer, with 2012’s A New World LP being a particular favourite here at Juno Plus.
News now arrives that Cantu will return to MOS later this month, with another 12″ for the MOS Deep sub-label entitled Long Weekend. Available to preview below, the record largely sees the producer in full-on 303 mode, with the B-side given over entirely to two fast-paced acid jams, with only the title track on the A-side going on a deeper house tip.
MOS Deep will release Long Weekend by D’Marc Cantu on 12″ vinyl on March 31.
Tracklisting:
A1. Long Weekend
B1. 1Lb Of Flesh
