Acid Test debut Tin Man & Donato Dozzy collaboration

Donato Dozzy returns once more to Absurd Recordings’ sub-label Acid Test.

Everyone’s favourite Italian techno producer Donato Dozzy (pictured above) has become an important cog in the development of Absurd Recordings sub-label Acid Test since it began in 2011. The label now boasts eight – soon to be nine – 12″s from the likes of Holger Zilske, Tin Man, Pépé Bradock, and Iron Curtis and Jurgen ‘Jool’ Albert’s Achterbahn D’Amour project, who are still relishing the release of their debut album Odd Movements. Dozzy was there for the Absurd Recordings sub-label’s first 12″ three years ago, providing a serene remix to Tin Man’s “Nonneo”, while he later delivered the “In Bed” (Acid Test 03) single with a reciprocal Tin Man remix that same year.

Acid Test 09 marks the first true collaboration between Tin Man and Donato Dozzy after Johannes Auvinen found himself in Dozzy’s Rome studio, making what a brief press release describes as “emotional acid lines” that become “shooting stars in Dozzy’s hypnotic atmospheres”. Tin Man is of course no stranger to collaboration, having hooked up with the Cassegrain duo twice on Berlin label Killekill, however this collaboration with Dozzy provides three deeper and more melodic movements in acid techno compared to the former’s tougher club cuts.

Acid Test will release Tin Man and Donato Dozzy’s Acid Test 09 on March 24.
