Austin Cesear returns with There’s A Crack In Everything
Listen to a track from the Californian producer’s 12″ for Anthony Naples’ Proibito label.
Austin Cesear originally surfaced with the Cruise Forever LP on London-based label Public Information back in 2012, delivering what was an immersive collection of monochrome soundscapes and deep, grainy house grooves that largely predated the flood of similarly lo-fi dance music which would find its niche in the 18 months to follow. Cesear has been disappointingly quiet on recorded material since Cruise Forever, although we have known that the producer would be releasing on Anthony Naples’ Proibito label since a premature review slipped out at Little White Earbuds a few months ago. Available next week, There’s A Crack In Everything features three tracks of sample-based house from Cesear, including the below track “Slink”, which sees heavily delayed piano chords darting around seasick percussion.
