Marcos Cabral is Dancing On Manhattan
Stream the New York producer’s contribution to the forthcoming Music For Shut-Ins compilation on L.I.E.S.
As reported previously, Ron Morelli’s unstoppable L.I.E.S. label are preparing to release their second label compilation; entitled Music For Shut-Ins, it builds on the foundations of last year’s American Noise selection, featuring names recently brought to the label as well as more established artists. One that falls under the latter category is Marcos Cabral; first appearing on the label back in 2011 with a highly coveted entry into the L.I.E.S. white label series, the producer, who was perhaps previously best known for his work under the Runaway banner with Jacques Renault, has this year seen his solo career receive increased attention thanks to the False Memories LP for the label in June.
Cabral will contribute two tracks to Music For Shut-Ins, “Virginia”, which featured on False Memories, and the previously unreleased “Dancing On Manhattan (which also features on the accompanying 12” sampler alongside tracks from Entro & Terri and Beautiful Swimmers) is available to stream in its 12 minute long entirety below. Despite its length, the track never veers explicity into psychedelic or noise territory like similarly lengthy tracks from Jahiliyya Fields or Svengalisghost, rather it allows the straight up pulse of its jacking drums and melancholic keys to draw you into a more introspective headspace.
