Clement Meyer has Modern Primitivism

Preview the upcoming new EP from the Get The Curse boss man which features a remix from rising talent Lumigraph.

Having launched the Paris-based Get The Curse with his own Midnight Madness EP back in 2010, Meyer has since used the label largely as a platform for other artists to shine, releasing music from Raudive, Low Jack, Crackboy and Photonz. The forthcoming Modern Primitivism EP is Meyer’s third for his label and first in two years, and is said to represent a “new, albeit logical, direction for the producer,” taking in elements of EBM, industrial and the primitive electronics of his 1970s forebearers – hence the title.

Available to preview below before its release next month, there’s an inherent moodiness and raw nature to the tracks that retains a degree of consistency with Meyer’s previous work, and feels at times like Phillippe Laurent dabbling in techno. Lead track “Chronomaniac (part 1&2)” is a particularly disjointed delight which is complemented well by the accompanying remix from new Mr Saturday Night signee Lumigraph.
