Listen to The Black Dog’s entrance into Unterton

The Black Dog’s first Darkhaus EP marks the next pleasant left turn for Ostgut Ton sub-label Unterton.

As reported by Resident Advisor, the South Yorkshire techno veterans have laid out a series of four Darkhaus 12″ releases in advance of their new LP Tranklements arriving in May. The first comes via the pleasantly diverse Ostgut Ton offshoot Unterton, which in its brief history to date has veered from Villalobos and Efdemin remixes of tobias to Panorama Bar ripplers from Tuff City Kids to some overtly camper fair from the Manhooker pair.

The addition of The Black Dog for a one off release maintains Unterton’s don’t-second-guess-us tradition; both the original and stripped versions of “Council Flat Emptiness” find the Sheffield trio in dubby main room form, whilst the Ostgut rolodex ensures some top drawer remix presence in the shape of Luke Slater’s L.B Dub Corp.
