Hoya:Hoya prepare JTC release

Ann Arbor legend JTC helms the fourth release on Manchester label Hoya:Hoya.

Hoya:Hoya began life as a clubnight in 2008 founded by Jonny Dub, picking up the slack left by legendary Manchester institution Electric Chair and possibly offering a next generation slant on the famed ‘Northern Sulphuric Soul’ of residents The Unabombers. Lone, LuckyMe’s Eclair FiFi, recent Ninja Tune signee Illum Sphere, Swamp81’s MC Chunky and Irish boogie obsessive Krystal Klear and Jonny Dub, Chunky and visual artist EMN currently operate as residents at the monthly party – the less celebrated but very talented former Eyes Down DJ Jon K is also a resident and delivered one of the mixes of 2013 so far recently for F/\CT.

The label side of Hoya:Hoya launched in late 2010 and has intermittently issued a series of three split 12″s that collated material from Ikonika, Eliphino, Ras G and the aforementioned trio of Lone, Illum Sphere and Krystal Klear. News of the forthcoming Park Days EP from JTC marks the expansion into dedicated artist releases for Hoya:Hoya, and does so in eye-catching style.

JTC is of course one alias used by the multi talented Tadd Mullinix, also recording under the Dabrye, SK-1, Charles Manier and James T Cotton aliases as well as several collaborative projects with fellow Nation luminaries D’Marc Cantu and Melvin ‘Traxx’ Oliphant III. Lead by the crisp house manoeuvres of “South Brook”, the four track EP finds Mullinix on vibrant form and the press release rightfully states “this is one of those records where everyone has a different favourite.”

Hoya:Hoya will release the Park Days EP by JTC on 12″ and digital formats on March 11.
